Rosana Francescato, Program Manager at Adobe Systems has been awarded the first GPM® Fundamentals Award

For Immediate Release:

San Francisco-CA – GPM®, the world’s leading provider of sustainability based project management methodologies, professional development, and accreditation announced today that Rosana Francescato, Program Manager at Adobe Systems has been awarded the first GPM® Fundamentals Award.

2012-Fundamentals-AwardAbout the Award:

The GPM Fundamentals Award is bestowed upon the person who submits the most thorough EnVex in a PRiSM Practitioner course in a given year.  EnVexes are in-course-virtual-projects that are taken from real life case studies.  These exercises challenge course participants to apply what they learn in the course to achieve project objectives while realizing benefits from a social, environmental, and economic standpoint. This is the first year for the award, which is one of three, to be bestowed annually. The Green Project of the Year Award was awarded to Sarfraz Malik on August 30th, and the Sustainability Award recipient will be announced in early December.

About the Award Winner:

Rosana Francescato is a program manager for Adobe Systems and a volunteer with the PMI San Francisco Bay Area Chapter. She attended the US Course in San Francisco that was administered by our European Training Partner QA Limited this past August. Her case study which focused on the prioritization and management of four unique projects for a catalogue publishing company that was in danger of closing its doors if it couldn’t transform its business model to be more sustainable.

Utilizing GPM’s Sustainabiltiy Management Plan, a core component to the PRiSM™ Project Methodology, Rosana effectively designed the project with a phased approach to reduce resource consumption and waste output while maximizing profitability through new logistics processes and increased online services. This approach also reduced the workload on over located employees and improved customer satisfaction by reducing costs and delivery times.

GPM® President Joel Carboni was quoted as saying “I attended the first day of the course and some participants were a little nervous about doing a competency exercise rather than an exam. We feel that aside from the course instruction which focuses on the integration of sustainable methods derived from ISO:14001 and ISO:26000 we provide project managers with custom blueprints that they can use as templates when they return to their daily work. Out of all the submissions in 2012 from around the world, Rosana’s was the strongest.”

Congratulations to Rosana, and to Adobe Systems!
